It’s been awhile, and we really appreciate your patience while we dealt with the loss of Dan’s father. It’s been a trying time and we greatly appreciate your patience.
We do have some exciting updates though!
Opening Your API to Others chapter is now available!
This was a massive chapter and we’re stoked to share! In this chapter we:
- Go through the process on how to allow users to generate their own personal access tokens.
- Implement custom rate limiters to prevent API abuse
- Give an example of how to block access to features using token scopes.
It’s the last feature we will be adding to ROAST in the scope of this book, but it’s also the starting point for growth and more exciting developments to come. Allowing devs to interact with your API’s resources allows your user base to grow and you get to see the creativity of others.
Tests Are Updated For Laravel 8
We updated ALL of our API automated tests to work with Laravel 8 (and they all pass!). This is huge for deployments so we have less bugs and serve as a functioning example of how to test an API.
